Found this little video while scuttling round the interwebby.....health and safety would have had a field day! Final image here. I have to say and bearing in mind i've had folk running through lochs in the dark...this is one of the most idiotic things i've seen from a photoshoot. Have we come to a point where life is that unimportant or are folk so obsessed with being in the media they'l do pretty much anything for a good photo op. Heavy post I know but I can't believe they did that tbh and as a tog I can't beleive they let them do it! tog must have bloody great insurance coverage.......

I was going through some old images today and I found this one of Stuart Fraser, think was done about 2 years ago now. Looking back the light that night was just so perfect. I got a few amazing shots from that whole shoot. I have a couple of shoots in the pipeline with Stuart, one has a few technical difficulties which I am ironing out and the other I am waiting for the leaves to fall of the tress....honest!A few from the Ayr v hawks game on Sat, good day and some good rugby. Hawks hung in there right to the end and came away with a bonus point from the champions but at one point the win looked on the cards although Ayr supporters seem to think they have a god given right not to be penalized for anything on the park for some reason LOL I would love to see the stats from that game, the amount of penalties racked up by Ayr was staggering. Full game images here
Was using the 300 with a 1.4 which equates to a 420 f4 for most of these with a 70-200 for goal line action.

A few from Rowan & James wedding, no flash allowed during the ceremony so the ISO was cranked up a bit but the D700 is just a great tool to work with. As you can see I was fair taken by that center piece in the roof at the recepetion....

So, we finally manged to get this shoot in the bag, bit of a cold night but it was dry and clear. The full slideshow is here. Thanks to Jo for modeling and Max for the lighting.

Cleared most of my work now and have caught up now so planning a few more project shoots for the next few months although I just got in a commission from 220 for a shoot that needs to be done for early next week. So need to find a few things first...like a location!
Bought myself a new video camera yesterday, a nice little panasonic HD thingy, was looking for full HD 1920x1080. Its tiny but packed with features that i'll prob never use LOL but I have a few ideas I want to mess around with.
This weekend , its rugby and aquathlon...thats swim and run if your not in the know.

Ever felt your ideas are getting ripped off? Should see it as a compliment but sheesh!
Anyways, looking forward to tomorrow night for a little fashion shoot with Jo. This idea has been on the cards for quite a while now , actually the begining of the summer LOL but due my and Jo's schedules and the great Scottish weather we've had to put it off. Found the right dress and then the shoes which all ties into the location I came across while driving through Glasgow. I've had this image in my head for ages now its just getting all together. I'll post the images later in the week ...if they're good , if not you'l never see them LOL!

Did a little PR for the Hawks on Friday evening for an upcoming event on Oct 17th. The Hawks are playing at home and there will be some charity events also on game day by Cancer Research & Breast Cancer UK, mini rugby and I beleive the Royal Navy helicopter is making an appearance. Was a good laugh and we had to make other arrangments as the celeb called off last moment so Zena the Hawks marketing rep, stepped in to be our celeb....even managed to get her airborne!

Back again, so whats been happening then....well my project managing skills are getting better as the work has been flooding in LOL
Athlone went really well apart from the odd downpour of rain. Always a very exhausting day as you are on the go from 7am to 7 or 8pm at night and you are living of red bull LOL
Got some great stuff this year and some of it is in my portfolio already.

If you've never been to a triathlon esp an elite one then transitions are great as it just fast and furious!!
A few members of the Irish National team, Gavin Noble, Aileen Morrison and Emma Davis.
Not as many snappers this year which was surprising. This year I did the music gig at the venue as well, not done much in the way of live band before but looking at the results am pretty chuffed with them. The band is called Blizzard. Galleries here....

Also caught a few snaps of a street performer outside my hotel, well I had the camera it would have been rude not to grab a few stills....I beleive she is the sister to one of the west life members or was it boyzone.....am getting too old!!

Got a commission from Triathlete World mag to over the Aberfeldy Triarthlon. Came via a contact in SLSTri company who were at the time looking for some images of athletes I had for their company webpage. Aberfeldy is a open water middle distance triathlon and its basically a long days shooting. Think the quickest race time was about 4 hours. Its a great place and the scenery is awesome as you right in the highlands. Got some belters on the bike section and pleased with the haul of images. I beleive its going to printed up as a story board of images for the race. A little wide shot to give you an idea of the location....

Got a call from Triathlon Plus mag to do some shots of Cat Morrison for MTB article thats running soon. So after some quick schedule arranging as Cat was still out the country and we had no bike to use , we eventually got the bike company to send up a new bike for the shoot and it all came together on a very early morning to fit in with Cats training sched for the day at a country park outside Glasgow.
Cat was defo still jet lagged as she'd just got in the day before from the states and the weather was'nt particularly great but that was the window we had so make the best of it. Nothing to sketchy was on the cards as Cat is building up to a big race later this year, you may know it its in Hawai!! It very easy to come off the bike in the wet fields and do an ankle or knee etc so no mad cornering or anything crazy was allowed! I don't want to be responsible for Cat missing that race! Tried a number of different ideas and styles from backlit in a forest to some downhill riding. The images are now with the mag and looking forward to seeing the results in print.

Last two weeks I had the pleasure of shooting Kevin & Ian's wedding and then James and Rowans wedding in Edinburgh. Kevin and Ian had a civil ceremony at a lodge over at Loch Goilhead, what a place. Amazing little lodge on the side of the loch. A long day but a really enjoyable wedding which included a belly dancer and a Diana Ross lookalike singer......the photos are brilliant!

I knew James from the triathlon circuit and he asked my to shoot his and Rowan's wedding last week in Edinburgh. Lovely church and the reception venue, the George hotel, was stunning inside. A lovely couple and I am still going through the images but so far they are coming out great.
Only thing I had a problem with was he parking in Edinburgh city center where the hotel was, what a nightmare!!
Something that a friend of mines and a part time model for me, Jo came up recently. The idea of a doing an exhibition gallery show somewhere in Glasgow in conjunction with Jo's work and her friend Max. its still in the development stages right now but I am actually quite stoked with the idea and concept and its good to be working with other enthusiastic artists rather working on you own all the time. Means alot of location shooting , more on this later but defo up for this.
Talking of Jo, I found this cracking location for a fashion shoot in Glasgow that I am planning soon. Fashion shoots are good fun, its diff from my normal sport stuff and a welcome change to flip over to this type of work, keeps you fresh as well and sometimes the ideas and techniques actually come in useful for the sports commissions.

Rugby season is off and running, not managed to get to the first games as I have been doing weddings but the next few weeks are clear on Sats to get back to covering the Glasgow Hawks. Should be an interesting season as the Hawks look beefed up this year in the pack so looking forward to getting wet over the winter again!!
Still is from a pre season game which the galleries can be viewed here.
Something I have been doing for a while personally but not advertised commercially is product photography. That has all changed now since via a contact in the Famous Grouse brand, thanks Z :) I am now doing some work for the Brugal brand. Its funny as since doing that another commission came along for cosmetics for another company for their products, funny old
world. Shot is from a sunny evening shoot we did for fun of Zoe.
A few more commissions from Kelvinside Academy, three days of shooting around the Academy doing different aspects of the Academy and its pupils for their annual prospectus and then the annual sports day which was enjoyable. Another shoot at The Peak sport center for Active Stirling capturing the play groups in their different sports and capturing some of the adult spin classes.

This one is just a gratuitous post , found the image while trawling my hardrive :)
Am sure I've missed stuff but thats all I can recount off the top of my head.....
